160 gold bars seized at Shah Amanat airport

Customs Intelligence on Thursday seized approximately 160 gold bars from Shah Amanat International Airport in the port city.
Roksana Khatun, deputy commissioner of Chittagong Custom House, confirmed the matter.
She said acting on a tipp-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted an operation and they found approximately 160 gold bars in a plastic bag kept under a seat of flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-148 which came from Dubai at 8:20 am.
The value of the seized gold was estimated at around TK 10.40 crore, she added.
