The airline plans to add additional flights operated by its subsidiary AirAsia Indonesia to complement the Malaysian subsidiary.

Kuala Lumpur-Yogyakarta and Kuala Lumpur-Lombok will see an increase from 14 flights per week to 21 flights, while Kuala Lumpur-Pekanbaru flights will be increased from 10 flights to 17 flights weekly.

“We hope that increasing the frequency of these three routes will increase the number of foreign tourists coming through our Kuala Lumpur hub to boost our contribution to Indonesian tourism,” AirAsia Indonesia commercial director Iwan Kamaruddin said in an official statement on Monday.

The airline hopes to increase visitors by 30 percent on the three routes from the additional flights. (ags)
